Ingredients:

For the Chicken Marinade:
  • 500g boneless chicken, cubed
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
For the Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Chicken:
    • Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl and coat the chicken.
    • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • Heat oil in a pan and cook the marinated chicken until browned. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:
    • Melt butter in a pan, sauté onions until golden.
    • Add garlic, ginger, and cook until fragrant.
    • Pour in crushed tomatoes and spices, simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Finish the Dish:
    • Add heavy cream and sugar, stirring well.
    • Return the chicken to the pan and cook for 5 more minutes.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve hot with basmati rice or naan, garnished with cilantro.
