- 4 oz dark chocolate (60–70% cocoa)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- Butter and cocoa powder (for greasing ramekins)
- Powdered sugar (for garnish)
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Preparing the Ramekins
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder. This prevents sticking.
Step 2: Melting the Chocolate and Butter
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave (in 30-second intervals).
- Stir until smooth and let cool slightly.
Step 3: Making the Batter
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
