Ingredients:
For the Chicken Marinade:
- 500g boneless chicken, cubed
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 2 cups crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
- Marinate the Chicken:
- Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl and coat the chicken.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat oil in a pan and cook the marinated chicken until browned. Set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- Melt butter in a pan, sauté onions until golden.
- Add garlic, ginger, and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and spices, simmer for 15 minutes.
- Finish the Dish:
- Add heavy cream and sugar, stirring well.
- Return the chicken to the pan and cook for 5 more minutes.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with basmati rice or naan, garnished with cilantro.
